Apartment occupant charged at KL court for injuring residential worker

KUALA LUMPUR: A resident of an apartment in Bukit Jalil was charged at the Kuala Lumpur court on Friday (Jan 12) for injuring a worker of the residential apartment, say police.

Cheras deputy OCPD Supt Ridzuan Khalid, in response to two videos of the incident that were uploaded on social media recently, said that an investigation into the case was launched in early January.

“Checks showed that the incident occurred on Jan 5 at around 8am where the suspect, a local resident, had injured a worker. He had been unhappy over a barrier that was installed at the building’s exit and was arguing with a security guard, when he injured a worker that happened to be in the vicinity,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Jan 13).

“Cheras police advises the public to not speculate or create assumptions that could lead to public unrest and affect general safety,” he said.
