Woman seen trying to kick biker on Penang Bridge sent for mental health checks

BUTTERWORTH: Police are still investigating a couple, one of whom is believed to be a disabled persons (OKU) cardholder, who were caught on camera attempting to kick other motorcyclists on the Penang Bridge.

Penang Police Chief Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said such actions still constituted offences and they would be referred to the hospital for mental health examinations.

“Based on our checks, both the male and female suspects have records for three previous crimes. We will investigate whether the female suspect has mental health issues,” he said.

He said both have been remanded for four days and the police had opened two investigation papers under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving. – Bernama
