No arrests linked to Bidor Molotov cocktail yet, says Tapah OCPD

IPOH: No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation of a Molotov cocktail thrown at a KK Super Mart outlet in Bidor, says Tapah OCPD Supt Mohd Naim Asnawi.

“I am urging those with information about the incident to contact and provide details to the police,” he said in a statement issued here on Wednesday (March 27).

On Tuesday (March 26) Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusof Hassan Basri had said that police are investigating the incident, where they have obtained CCTV footage of the incident which occurred at 5.35am on the same day.

In a statement shared on the state police’s Facebook page, Comm Mohd Yusri had said CCTV footage showed a dark-coloured car with a red “Lalamove” sticker on its door had been parked by the roadside.

He had said that a man then alighted from the car before throwing a bottle at the shop and fleeing.

Comm Mohd Yusri had also said that the Molotov cocktail that was thrown at the shop hit the five-foot walkway in front of the shop, but it did not ignite.

The convenience chain recently came under fire after its branch in Bandar Sunway, Selangor, was found selling socks printed with the word “Allah”.
